Abia Governor Expresses Confidence in Second Term
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has expressed confidence that he will complete his eight-year tenure in office, citing the support of the people and the progress made so far. Otti stated this while receiving members of the Old Students Association of the Federal School of Arts and Science, Aba, who visited him and expressed confidence in his re-election.
## Background
The governor's statement comes as the state prepares for the 2027 elections, with primaries scheduled to take place within the month. Despite the upcoming elections, Otti remains optimistic about his chances, stating that the people of Abia are not stupid and know what is good for them.
## Infrastructural Projects
Otti also highlighted his administration's infrastructural projects across the state, including the Aba Power project, which aims to provide steady power supply to the state. The governor commended the resilience of Professor Bart Nnaji, the brain behind the project, and disclosed that an agreement had been signed to acquire the Umuahia ring-fenced area of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company.
## Old Students Association
The President of the Old Students Association, Tony Ejieji, commended the governor's performance, noting that the state had become peaceful and safe. The association is renovating one of the hostels in their alma mater and praised the governor's infrastructural projects across the state.
