The Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that the outcome of the APC primary election for the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency is respected, urging that the alleged substitution of Engr. Razaq Obe’s name should not be allowed.
The monarch made the appeal during the Akure-Speaking Communities’ Development Summit 2026, held at the Dome International Event Centre, Alagbaka, Akure, where political leaders, traditional rulers, professionals, and stakeholders gathered to discuss regional development.
According to the royal father, Engr. Razaq Obe has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the growth and development of Ondo State through years of dedicated public service and community development initiatives. He described Obe as a respected leader whose contributions have earned him widespread support across the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency.
Oba Aladelusi appealed to President Tinubu to protect the integrity of the democratic process by allowing the will of party members and constituents to prevail.
“The choice of the people should be respected. Democracy thrives when the voices of the people are honoured. Engr. Razaq Obe has worked tirelessly for the development of our state and has earned the confidence of many. I appeal to Mr. President to ensure that justice is done and that the people’s mandate is preserved,” the monarch said.
The appeal comes amid concerns from some stakeholders over reports of an alleged attempt to substitute the name of the APC primary winner for the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency.
The summit, themed “Building a Smart, Integrated and Prosperous Development Corridor,” brought together eminent personalities including Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae; Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, CFR; Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN; and Prof. Adenike Osifisan. Others at the event include Dr. Niyi Ijogun; Air Commodore Adebayo Ogunmoyede (Rtd.); Engr. Razaq Obe, Chief Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole, prominent Obas from Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore LGAs, and other distinguished stakeholders.
